From The President; (I like the sound of that, for two more months)

 

The November meeting is a very important one for all of you.  The election of C.A.R.S. officers for 2008 will be held.  Without officers we have no club.  Think about it and your contribution.  Those who are no shows at the meeting could end up with some very important offices.  (only kidding)

 

If you are willing to serve but can't make the Meeting please e-mail me stating which office, and I will put your name into nomination.

 

The Meeting is late this month. It is on the 19th, a little too close to Turkey Day.

MOTOROLA TO ACQUIRE CONTROLLING INTEREST

IN PARENT COMPANY OF YAESU

      Motorola issued a press release earlier this week stating that its

subsidiary, Motorola USA, will "launch a tender offer to acquire a

controlling interest in Vertex Standard Co., Ltd." Vertex Standard is

the parent company of Yaesu. Upon successful completion of the tender offer and subsequent restructuring process, Motorola will own 80 percent of Vertex Standard; Tokogiken, a privately held Japanese company.
